435P - Restraint and Seclusion of Students

The School Board recognizes the use of physical restraint, mechanical restraint, or seclusion of students may be necessary to ensure the safety and security of students, staff and/or school facilities. Any such restraint must be employed in a manner that minimizes the risk of injury to the student and staff member(s). Seclusion of students must be monitored at all times by an adult staff member, with appropriate safeguards to ensure the safety of the student. 

The superintendent shall promulgate regulations to support this policy. Any use of physical restraint, mechanical restraint, or seclusion of students shall be consistent with this policy and its associated regulation.
