528P - Tutoring

Employees may tutor students for credit in the homebound instruction program under the direction of the school administration.

Teachers may privately tutor students for pay at their own discretion providing the following conditions are met:
  • Tutoring may not be done on school premises.

  • Students may not be concurrently enrolled in a class under the teacher’s direction.
Teachers may receive pay from the school division for tutoring students outside of their contract hours as part of a school initiated instructional program. This includes being part of a Supplemental Educational Services (SES) agreement.

Frederick County is not responsible for providing private tutors, including current employees, with instructional materials; however, information for purchasing adopted textbooks will be made available upon request.
